Boots pharmacists launch historic attempt to secure an independent voice at work

With the full backing of the PDA Union, a group of pharmacists employed by Boots have today commenced a legal challenge to secure an independent voice at work. This is the latest development in a long-running campaign by pharmacists to overcome Boots’ attempts to deny them their rights to negotiate over their working conditions through a union of their choice.

Consultation on Pharmaceutical Services Regulations in Northern Ireland

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland consulted on legal changes to enable prescriptions from therapeutic radiographers and registered dieticians to be dispensed, and to allow community pharmacy contractors to refuse to provide services to patients (or those accompanying them) if they are violent or threaten violence or a criminal offence.

PDA Responds to Proposals on Decriminalisation of Dispensing Errors

The four UK health departments consulted on legal changes related to the decriminalisation of dispensing errors and other matters being considered by the Rebalancing Medicines Legislation and Pharmacy Regulation programme board. The PDA challenged the adequacy of the proposals in several respects.
